Art Brussels 2025 generates positive energy!
These are the words of Nele Verharen, Director of Art Brussels, who was welcoming the Lord Major of Brussels City Philippe Close during the fair’s vernissage on the 24th of April at the iconic premises of Brussels EXPO! Despite the rain outside!
After the last year’s 40th Anniversary’s edition this year’s one splashes with general optimism and positivity! While you could see some projections and reflections of world‘s turbulences via art works, the back to the basics and the future was obvious! Back to the basics via showcasing flora and fauna, these topics were obvious and overwhelming in almost every gallery out of 165 galleries, presented this year! Even NATAN Fashion House and the Ruinart Champagne Pavilion, both are present with exceptional designs of theirs booth’s interior shouting out loud about the importance of paying attention on the eco-challenges and “saving-the-planet” issues, which are high on our agendas!

I never have seen so many greenery and flowers at any art fairs so far! Art Brussels this year is the champion of displaying it! The overall joy via colors is in paintings, carpets, installations and good mood, which is in the air! It gives hope and the ray of light at the end of the tunnel! Nature in its purest form!
This year there is the 75th Jubilee of Belgian Art Prize, which is highlighted at the fair! There are also exceptional collaborations with Brussels Museums and galleries, in order to involve them more and better in the art scene and make a stronger connection! WIELS, The Fine Arts Museum, Fondation Hermes, Fondation Baghossian and many more are on the spot for even more serious collaboration with Art Brussels for the future!

There are various prizes, foundations, which support artist directly, like POMONA Fund, charities, special actions and performances! It’s all about highlighting the importance of crossovers and partnerships, which are a must for the art community in general!

Art Brussels annonces these new directions and the artistic ecosystem in Brussels supports and gives a chance to open new galleries in order to make cultural life even more vibrant! Jonathan Kugel is known at Sablon! He has his own gallery and is very active in BAS (Brussels Art Square) affairs!
On the eve of Art Brussels’s vernissage he opened his doors to a gallery from Amsterdam: FONTANA, known for its representation of my favorite felt artist Claudy Jongstra, some pierces are now on the display nowadays! Let’s hope that under one roof these two galleries can creatively co-exist and don’t disappoint us again!

Sunday, the 27th of April is the last day for Art Brussels and promised to be exciting again! Even if the weather looks promising, it’s strongly recommended to take a couple of hours of your time and observe and absorb all those positive vibes it offers to all!
