Art on Paper Brussels
Art on Paper is back to Brussels with the 10th edition!
I visited the Art on Paper Fair, which took place at Tour & Taxis, a famous conventional hotspot of Brussels and a former maritime station! It was a Cultural Happy hour of my network ENCATC! The idea of such CCHs, as we call them is to visit cultural organizations or fairs, new and old, so this concept is 13 years old and proved to be successful, bringing together ENCATC’s community for years! So was it yesterday!

Managing and Artistic Director of ArtInPaper Emmanuelle Indekeu, whom I remember from her similar job at a private business clubs The Merode, explained to us that the fair began at the premises of The White Hotel at Avenue Louise! And I do remember that time! So, the fair made a comeback and now is at Tour & Taxis, repeating and reminding us about the Beaty of such the material and substance as the paper! In fact, this edition is the 10th one!

The space of the fair allowed to many brand new and respected old galleries to share it and was divided equally among all the participants! And what a cacophony of works we have seen!
It’s a fragile materiel and yet, could be very strong and powerful! Different international artists showed the way how to re (use) it! The color combinations, the 3D effects or just simply paper flowers on the tables it was all about one of the oldest materials, known to us!
These days not only you showcase your art work, but you also want to talk about it! So, this fair, not being exceptional at all, had a daily impressive program in three languages! And as many fairs there was a professional jury and serious prizes! What was the most impressive for me is the amount of partners, who had supported the fair! As people say: show me your friends and I can tell you who you are”!

Many galleries gave their opinions about the fair and almost all of them underlined that they would be happy to see more collectors at it! Indeed, collectors are the essential part of the process and galleries judge the fair also by sold art works! Which was happening at this fair! International galleries are satisfied of it!! Many art lovers, aficionados and amateurs were scrolling along the way! Because it’s also an act of healing and therapy to be in contact with art works! Which makes our lives beautiful ,colorful and meaningful! ARS LONGA!
