Nextory is a reference European platform which offer a streaming service for audio books, ebooks, several daily press and magazine titles, and original podcasts.

Nextory (originally Youboox) was founded in 2015 in Stockholm by Shadi Bitar and Ninos Malki. The goal of the founders is to make reading more accessible to all by offering readers different access to literature.

For the founders, reading enriches people’s daily lives, it increases well-being and improves personal development. It increases mind openness, general culture, and plays a role in spreading and safeguarding democracy.

Nextory’s proposals

Nextory is therefore a streaming platform, which offers, for a monthly subscription, access to several titles of the national and regional daily press, magazines, e-books, podcasts, cartoons and Mangas, graphic novels, etc.

This is the ideal platform when you don’t have enough space to store all your books. The digital library that you will have access to has nearly a million titles, enough to satisfy all tastes and all members of the family.

Audio books and other content to listen to such as podcasts are easy to spot since they are accompanied by a headset icon.

You can save your favourite books on your account by clicking on the heart, and this will then allow the app to offer you more content that matches your tastes. You will find them easily thanks to the «my books» tab. But this does not prevent you from exploring all the subdivisions and thus go on an adventure.

You can also rate books and share your points of view with  the other members of the Nextory community.

Broadening horizons and nurturing the imagination

Nowadays, it is important to take time for yourself to relax, but also learn something new, and step out of your comfort zone. All books on Nextory are accessible all the time and everywhere, so it is not difficult to try other kinds of reading.

The content is therefore intended for all audiences: children, adolescents and adults.

The catalogue is divided into sections from which you can draw as you wish.

In the category «novels», we can be tempted by the sections police and thrillers, feel-good, adventures and travel stories, historical, humour, or horror.

But there are not only novels. A wide range of practical books are also available (cooking, travel, personal development, nature and ecology, health and wellness, creative leisure and DIY, gardening, DIY, sports, family, animals, games). And of course, many books of general culture are also accessible (arts, sciences and techniques, humanities, history and geography, essays, biographies, and memoirs, as well as religions and beliefs).

As I pointed out, children and adolescents will find readings to suit expectations and tastes, but also books that will allow them to do research for their schoolwork, all in one place.

To read, the smartphone is perfect, but for BDs and culture books, they are much more pleasant to consult on a larger screen. Anyway, it is easy to use Nextory on a computer. The platform is optimised for each type of screen.

Each month, the “Nextory” catalogue is expanded. Moreover, the company has signed agreements with more than 17,000 publishers and continues to build on its momentum in order to increase the offer to readers.

How to use Nextory

All the content is in French, but you can also find books in other languages. Actually, this is one of the platform’s current priorities : increasing the amount of books in different languages.

You can connect to Nextory via the online service or download and install mobile app for Android and IOS (for iPhone and iPad). Once the application is loaded, you only have to create your account and choose your subscription type.
